The world of Palpagos Islands in Palworld is pretty expansive. Travelling by foot is the only option to begin with, but this will soon become tiring. After a few hours of progress, you’ll gain access to more Pals and more Pal Items allowing you to perform special abilities. Some of these abilities include mounting your Pals for faster exploration. Below, you’ll find a guide to the best flying mounts in Palworld.
Mounts become available in Palworld from Player Level 6. At this point, you’ll be able to unlock and craft a Rushoar Saddle for Rushoar, should you have caught one. At Player Level 12 you’ll unlock Eikthyrdeer Saddle and upgrade your ride. However, it’s the best flying mounts in Palworld we’re concerned with here.

You can obtain your first flying mount, Nitewing, at Player Level 15. However Nitewing is pretty slow, and will soon be outdone. Below you’ll find the best flying mounts in Palworld to transition through as you grow through Player Levels.
Best Flying Mounts in Palworld
Vanwyrm
Once you’ve progress to Player Level 21, it’s time to ditch that Nitewing. Instead, go with Vanwyrm.
Vanwyrm is a significant step up from Nitewing in terms of speed, but also abilities. These Fire-type Pals are very strong in combat, especially against Ice and Grass-type Pals. That means they come in super-handy when facing Lily and Lyleen!
You can find Vanwyrms in the Bamboo Grove and Deep Bamboo Thicket regions, west of the Plateau of Beginnings.

Beakon
The next significant upgrade to your flying mount will come at Player Level 34. Beakon once again offers a significant flight speed increase over the previous best flying mount, Vanwyrm.
An Electric-type Pal, Beakons can also be used to generate electricity at your base. However, you might find catching them can be quite challenging.
You can find them in the arid region in the far northwestern corner of the map. You can also hatch them from Electric Eggs, but this is of course a bit of a gamble.
There’s also Alpha Beakon in the Deep Bamboo Thicket, if you’re brave enough!
Jetragon
The final upgrade available in the Early Access version of Palworld is Jetragon. Jetragon is the fastest flying mount in Palworld, and you’ll need to be a very high level to capture this Pal and also to craft the saddle to mount it.
Jetragon is a Level 50 boss Pal that you can find only on Mount Obsidian. It uses both Electric and Dragon elements in combat, making it effective against Water and Neutral.
That completes this guide for all the best flying mounts in Palworld! Be sure to check out Chit Hot’s Comprehensive Palworld Guide for any other areas of the game you may be struggling with.
